For large squirrels. A rifle made in the style of Christian Hawken, a good example of a Hagerstown school rifle about 1790-1810. He was the father of Jake and Sam of St. Louis Hawken fame.
Getz swamped barrel, 40 cal., 7/8 in. at the breech, 43 in. long. As always, a handmade patchbox, sideplate cut and shaped from 1/8 in. sheet, sterling silver front sight made from folding sheet, braxzing into one piece and filing it up. Signed and dated. |
