The gunmaker's conception of an early Virginia rifle. .50 cal. Rice barrel, 1 and 1/16 in. at the breech, swamped, 44 in. long. Hand made patchbox, sideplate, nose cap. Front sight made by folding and brazing sterling silver sheet. Perfect piece of sugar maple with grain parallel to the wrist and toe.
